D.WILSON CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES $10,000 SPONSORSHIP OF UTPA ATHLETICS

EDINBURG, TX-A well-known and respected construction company in the Rio Grande Valley area has renewed an agreement to sponsor athletics at The University of Texas-Pan American. This marks the 3rd year that D.Wilson Construction has been a significant supporter of UTPA Athletics.

D. Wilson Construction presented a check for $10,000 to Texas-Pan American Vice President for Business Affairs James Langabeer and Director of Athletics William J. Weidner. The funds will support UTPA's 14 NCAA Division I athletic programs. In return, D.Wilson Construction will receive marketing and advertising consideration at UTPA athletic events, and in its facilities.

"In the last 10 years, we've probably done 25 million dollars worth of work for the university, and this is a way for us to give something back," said Bill Wilson of D. Wilson Construction. "We wanted to be involved with the Learning Center and academics, and to see that the department's GPA is up to 2.92 is impressive. That is definitely something we want to support. Having that kind of success puts you up there with the elite, and that's a good place to be."

"On behalf of The University of Texas-Pan American and our entire athletic program, I would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Bill Wilson and D. Wilson Construction for their continued support of UTPA athletics," said Weidner. "Our partnership with D. Wilson Construction has greatly assisted our program's efforts to succeed in both the academic and athletic arenas. With D. Wilson's continued support, we are confident that our athletic program will lay a strong foundation upon which we hope to build future successes."
