PEGJOHNGY MOSES NAMED ASSISTANT A.D. FOR COMPLIANCE SERVICES/SWA

EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American's athletic department has a new Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Services and Senior Woman Administrator.

Pegjohngy Moses, a graduate of Duke University and the Tulane Law School who has extensive administrative and compliance experience at four NCAA Division I institutions, has been named to the post. She succeeds Charolette Hunt, who resigned to become Director of Compliance at Conference USA.

In addition to her responsibilities as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Services and Senior Women's Administrator, Moses will also serve on the department's Executive Staff, while representing the athletic department as a liaison to the University Registrar, the Office of Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid.

Moses currently serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Tennessee-Chattanooga, where she oversees day-to-day compliance operations for the athletic department. At UTC, Moses coordinates eligibility and financial aid for 350 student-athletes, monitors recruiting activities, and serves as liaison to the financial aid office, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and the Southern Conference office.

Prior to coming to Chattanooga, Moses served as both Compliance Coordinator and Director of Compliance at the University of Central Florida. At UCF, Moses oversaw the compliance activities of the athletic department, coordinated eligibility and financial aid, and monitored recruiting activities for 16 sports.

Moses grew up in Goldsboro, North Carolina, where she played volleyball at Goldsboro High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history at Duke. She also served as the manager for the women's basketball team, working with Head Coach Gail Goestenkors and the nationally recognized Blue Devil program.

Moses graduated from Tulane Law School in 1998 before entering athletic administration. She was an Athletic Administration Intern at Brown, and served as Compliance Coordinator at Cornell before joining the staff at UCF. At Brown, Moses worked with compliance, finance and budgetary matters, tickets and facilities and operations. While at Cornell, Moses was charged with insuring the eligibility of Cornell's 1200 varsity student-athletes, while monitoring compliance with NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations.

"I'm very excited to be coming to Texas-Pan American," said Moses. "The position is very exciting to me, and I look forward to it. The position is especially attractive because of the added responsibility of being the Senior Woman Administrator."

"We are very pleased to announce the addition of Pegjohngy Moses as our Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Services and Senior Woman Administrator at The University of Texas-Pan American," said UTPA Director of Athletics William J. Weidner. "As a Duke graduate and having earned a degree from Tulane Law School, P.J. has a clear understanding of the value of education and that the attainment of an earned degree will be of great benefit to each of our student-athletes long after their playing days are over. Her extensive background in athletic administration and NCAA compliance at four NCAA Division I institutions will serve her well at UTPA. P.J.'s integrity, work ethic and dedication to the profession are well-respected among her peers throughout intercollegiate athletics. On behalf of The University of Texas-Pan American and the athletic department, I would like to welcome P.J. as the newest member of the UTPA family."
