Undergraduate Educational Experience

1999-2000 Training Room StaffThe University of Texas-Pan American offers an internship in athletic training for those students interested in the field.  The internship is a collaboration between the Department of Health and Kinesiology and the Athletic Training Staff of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Academic

The academic portion of your experience in athletic training at UTPA will consist of a major in a related field such as Health or Kinesiology.  Courses required for both state licensure and national certification are offered through the Department of Health and Kinesiology and are outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog.

Clinical

The clinical or internship portion of your experience in athletic training will be completed with the Athletic Training Staff in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.  You will work with and be supervised by state licensed, NATABOC certified athletic trainers while you gain valuable experience and knowledge.  You will be working closely with all 14 NCAA Division I Bronc and Lady Bronc athletic teams here at Pan Am.
