2001 Junior:  Tied for second on the team with wins...  Led the team in innings pitched as well as strikeouts with 67.0 and 52, respectively...  Also was first in games started with 12...  Not only completed a game, but two, being the only Bronc pitcher to have a complete game. 

Navarro Junior College: Appeared in 12 games, posting a 1-2 record with two saves…  He had just a 2.49 earned run average and 16 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings of work…  A talented overall athlete, Dowd also played for the basketball team at NJC.

Waxahachie High School: Standout at Waxahachie High School where he was named all-state twice and was District MVP as a junior…  Had a career 25-4 record at WHS with 200 strikeouts in just over 100 innings of work…  Also had a career .389 batting average with six home runs at WHS…  Competed on the basketball and track and field teams as well.

Personal: Born on June 23, 1979 in Corsicana, Texas…  Parents are Karen Grier and Johnny Ray Dowd…  Has one brother, Clint…  Majoring in General Studies.
