2001 Junior:  Finished fifth on the team in strikeouts with 27...  With a year of Division I experience, Calvert is counting to have a great season.

2000 Sophomore: Tied for the team lead in wins with six in his first season in Edinburg…  His 14 starts was a team high…  His 78.0 innings of work was also a team high…  His lone complete game of the season came against Texas A&M, in which he went seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits in the win (2/12)…  Also struck out a season high seven batters in the game…  His longest outing of the season was also his last, as he went 8 1/3 innings of work against Troy State to pick up his sixth win of the season (5/6)…  In eight of his 14 outings he allowed two runs or less…  Went at least six innings in seven of his 14 starts.

Navarro Junior College: Calvert was second in Region IX North Zone with 12 saves...  Calvert compiled a 2.57 ERA in 32 2/3 innings with 52 strikeouts.

Grapevine High School: While at Grapevine High School in Grapevine, TX, Calvert participated in both baseball and football...  In 1997 Calvert was an All-District selection in football, and helped lead Grapevine to a Texas 4A State Championship...  Not to be outdone come springtime, Calvert earned All-District, All-County and All-State selections in baseball, after a 13-1 season on the mound...  In addition to winning 13 games, Calvert had an ERA of 1.79 and 85 strikeouts in 77 innings pitched.

Personal: Was born on March 21, 1979, in Dallas, Texas…  Mike is the son of James R. and Linda Sue Calvert…  Majoring in Management.
