2001 Junior:  Had his breakout season last year, leading the Broncs in hitting for most part of the season...  Finished third on the team in batting with a .285 average...  Led the team with 3 triples.

2000 Sophomore: Saw action in seven games, including one start…  Posted a .250 batting average with three RBI’s and a run scored in limited action…  Made his first start of the season against Lamar and went 1-of-3 with a run scored for the Broncs (2/22)…  Against Western Illinois he went 1-of-2 with two RBI’s coming off the bench (3/7)…  Drove in his first run of the season against Lamar in the first game of a doubleheader (2/22).

1999 Freshman: Pompa saw limited action in his first full season in uniform...  Pompa only stepped to the plate eight times last season.

1998: Red-shirted.

Mission High School: While at Mission High School, Pompa hit .355 as a junior and .340 as a senior...  His honors include both second team All-Area and All-Valley and was also a first team all-district selection…  Received the Leo Najo Award and was named Most Improved Player.

Personal: Born on May 18, 1979, in McAllen…  Sergio is the son of Eliseo and Imelda Pompa...  A strong student off the field, Sergio was named to the 1998-99 UTPA Athletic Director’s Honor Roll…  Sergio is majoring in Business Management.
