Harlingen High School: Was a four sport athlete at Harlingen High School...  Was team captain during both his junior and senior years...  Hit .470 with 2 home runs, 18 RBI's, and four triples...  Stole a school record 53 bases during his senior year...  Finished his high school career with 112 SB's...  Was named All-District in football and baseball for three years...  Was also named All-Area, All-Valley, and Bay Area All-5A for baseball...  Participated as a member of the East team in the Rio Grande Valley All-Star Game...  Was named baseball Team MVP, Team Offensive Player of the Year and Team "Big Stick" Award...Strong student on as well as off the field, being honored with being on the Principal's List and Who's Who Among High School Students.
