Freshman Duo Continues to Lead UT-Pan American Men's Golf Squad
DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. -- The University of Texas-Pan American finished in sixth place at the Bethune Cookman Coca Cola Invitational at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach on Monday.
Jordan Bunte was again the top finisher for the Broncs. Bunte fired a 73 and a 75 for a two-round total of 148, placing him in 11th overall. After shooting a 73 and 76 Todd Grubert was on stroke back and in 17th place. Santiago DeLarrea finished in the next slot at 18th. DeLarrrea turned in a two-day total of 150. Juan Elizondo finished in a tie for 48th after shooting a pair of 81's.
Florida Atlantic earned team medallist honors, turning in a team score of 573. Steve LeBrun of FAU took home individual medalist honors, shooting a 66 and a 68 for a two-round total of 134. UTPA compiled a team score of 605, good enough for sixth place.
The Broncs will hit the links again when they host the UT-Pan American Golf Classic on November 8-9 at the Tierra Santa Golf Club in Weslaco.
