DeLarrea Leads UT Pan American Men’s Golf at UALR Invitational.

  LITTLE ROCK, AR – Santiago DeLarrea finished in a tie for 38^th, leading The University of Texas-Pan American Men’s Golf team to a 16^th place finish at the University of Little Rock Invitational held at the Chenal Country Club.

DeLarrea, a sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, shot a final round 75, finishing 20 strokes out of first place while carding a three-round total of 234.  Senior teammate Stephen Slaughter finished tied for 55^th with a three-round total of 241.  Two strokes behind Slaughter was Todd Grubert, who finished tied for 65^th with a three round total of 243.  James Aleman finished 76^th while Ricky Benavides finished in 85^th spot. 

Daniel Fox, representing the host team from Arkansas-Little Rock, earned individual medallist honors while firing a three-round total of 214, finishing 2 strokes under par.  Finishing one stroke behind Fox was Louisiana-Monroe’s Jody Moss who carded a 215 while Tim Speichert of Stephen F. Austin shot a 216, good enough for third place.  

Tournament hosts Arkansas-Little Rock shot a three-round total of 887 earning the team tile while defeating runner-up Arkansas State by combined 14 strokes.  Jacksonville State shot a three-round total of 908 to finish third.   UTPA finished with a three-round total of 962 good enough for a 16^th place finish.

The Bronc Golf team will tee it up again on April 6-7 at the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas.
