Larrea’s 15th Place Finish Leads UT Pan American at
Louisiana Tech Invitational CALHOUN,
LA. – Santiago De Larrea shot a final round 74 to finish 15th
overall, leading the way for the University of Texas-Pan American
men’s golf team at the Louisiana Tech Invitational, Tuesday at the
Pine Hills Country Club. De Larrea,
a sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, shot a consistent 222 (75-73-74) to
finish 15th overall. The
three-round total was his best of the season.
Stephen Slaughter was the second Bronc, taking 31st
with a three-round total of 229 (78-77-74).
He saved his best for last, firing a final round 74.
James Aleman tied for 44th with a 232, Ricky Benavides
and Todd Grubert tied for 50th with a 233. Per
Oloffson of Tennessee-Chattanooga took medallist honors with a
three-round total of 209. Brad
Wright of Louisiana Tech took second with a 211 and Kyle Young was third
with a 212. Tennessee-Chattanooga
slipped past Louisiana-Monroe, 877 to 881.
Tennessee Tech took third with an 893.
UTPA was 11th with a 913. The UTPA men’s golf team returns to action on November 8-10 at the Hal Sutton Invitational in Shreveport, La. |
