UTPA’s Dawne Hill, Rachel Drury Set School Records at Texas Relays

Complete Meet Results

AUSTIN – University of Texas-Pan American track and field athletes Dawne Hill and Rachel Drury each set school records at the 2000 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Saturday at the Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field.

Hill, a senior from McAllen, finished 13th in the hammer throw with a toss of 149’ 1”, breaking her own school record, set at the Spring Fever Open earlier this season.  Hill was a last minute addition to the list of competitors and took full advantage, breaking the school record for the third time this season.

Not to be outdone, Rachel Drury also broke a school record, this one in the pole vault.  The sophomore from Moscow, Idaho, blew past her old school record of 9’ 9”, by vaulting 10’ 2” to take 16th place overall.  Drury just missed in her attempt to reach 10’ 8”.

Gonzalo Gonzalez also qualified for the shot put competition, but did not make the minimum distance of 53 feet.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs will return to action at the Texas A&M Invitational next Saturday in College Station.
