“If you look at the team scores, they’re a lot closer than they were last week,” said UTPA Head Coach Ricky Vaughn.  “Amy Moses set a school record, Lovie Mathis had a personal best in the long jump, Isaac Ybarra had a personal record in the hammer, and Jeff Martzall a seasonal best in the pole vault.  We had an overall good performance. I think if we had done things a little different here and there, we would have scored more points.  My whole focus has been on individual performances, and to do well in each event.”

The track and field teams will return to action when they travel to compete in the Texas Relays April 4-6 in Austin, Texas.
