Tennis Assistant Coach Elizabeth MiddletonElizabeth Middleton is entering her second season as the perfect complement to Head Coach Todd Chapman as the Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at The University of Texas-Pan American.

A native of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Middleton earned All-State honors in tennis at Okmulgee High School. She advanced to the state tournament in each of her four seasons, finishing as high as third, and was team captain during her senior year. She also played point guard for the basketball team, serving as team captain as a senior.

Middleton played on four Mid-Continent Conference champions at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa. Her team advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of her final three seasons, and she posted perfect 9-0 records in both singles and doubles against conference competition as a senior. She was also captain of the team during her senior season.

Following the completion of her collegiate playing career, Middleton served as a  tennis professional at the Foothills Swim and Racquet Club in Colorado Springs, CO. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems at Oral Roberts in the fall of 2001.

“ Elizabeth has been a great addition to the Bronc tennis program,” said Chapman. “Her knowledge and experience will help us continue to build our program. I am impressed with her energy and her personality, and the new ideas that she has brought to what we already have.”

Middleton is pleased to be at UTPA. “I love tennis, and I knew that I would always have my degree, but I wouldn’t always have this opportunity,” said Middleton. “There is a lot of opportunity here, everybody I’ve met is really nice, and Todd is a good person to work with.”
