UT Pan American Women’s Golf Finishes 13th at Eastern Kentucky in Season Finale
RICHMOND, KY – Jaime McInturff finished 44th overall, leading the University of Texas-Pan American to a 13th place finish at the Eastern Kentucky University Lady Colonel Classic, held at the Arlington Golf Club on Sunday.
McInturff shot back-to-back 83’s to tie for 44th overall. The Broncs second finisher was Alejandra Gutierrez, who tied for 64th with a two round total of 173. Jeannie Lane took 70th with a 175, Tootie Lauzon and Adriana Espinoza each tied for 75th with a total of 180. Tying for medallist honors were Amanda Beeler and Shellie Wenzel, both of Arkansas State, with totals of 152. Julee Sovesky of the University of Ohio took third with a 154.
In the team competition, Arkansas State finished in first place with a two-round total of 619, 13 strokes ahead of second place Murray State. Tennessee Tech took third with a 637 and Austin Peay took fourth with a 638. The Lady Broncs finished in 13th with a 689.
The tournament wrapped up the first season for Barb Odale as head coach of the Lady Broncs. Seniors McInturff, Gutierrez and Schaefer played in their final tournament as Lady Broncs.
