McInturff Earns First Top 20 Finish for Lady Broncs Women's Golf
FLAGSTAFF, ARIZ. -- UT-Pan American women's golfer Jamie McInturff fired an 81 in the second round of the Northern Arizona Lumberjack Women's Golf Invitational for a final score of 160 and a 16th place finish.
McInturff, who shot an opening round 79 on Monday, finished in 16th place, 12 strokes behind the leader. Louise Davis of Northern Arizona took home medalist honors with a final score of 148, 72 for the first round and 76 for the second round. Kylie Smith of Eastern Washington and Stephanie Smoot of Eastern Michigan tied for second place with a two-day total score of 151.
Northern Arizona won the tournament with a team score of 629, 53 strokes over par. The University of Denver, Eastern Michigan, San Diego State and Western New Mexico rounded out the top five. UT-Pan American finished 16th.
Senior Alejandra Gutierrez finished in a tie for 62nd, turning in scores of 88 and 85 for a total of 173. Tootie Lauzon was 82nd after shooting a 93 in her first round and an 88 in her second for a two-day score of 181. Jeannie Lane and Melissa Schaefer were in a two-way tie for 84th with scores of 184.
The Lady Broncs will tee it up next at the Lamar University Invitational in Beaumont, Texas, on October 4th through the fifth.
