20TH AFTER FIRST ROUND AT BAYLOR-TAPATIO SHOOTOUT
BOERNE, TX–The University of Texas-Pan
American’s women’s golf team is in 20th place after the
first round of the 20-team Baylor-Tapatio Shootout, at the Tapatio
Springs Resort. The Lady Broncs shot a first-round score of 368. Tulane leads with a score of 304, followed by Texas Tech at 309, the host Lady Bears at 312, Texas A&M at 313, Northwestern at 315 and Kent State and Wisconsin at 317. Next were Nebraska and Missouri at 323, Illinois at 324, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 325, Sam Houston State at 327, North Texas at 329, Kansas State and Iowa State at 333, Middle Tennessee State at 336, McLennan CC at 338, Southwest Texas State at 345 and Ohio University at 346. Sophomore Crystal Frazier (Wortham, TX/Wortham HS)
led the Broncs with an 18-hole score of 87, good for a tie for 80th
place. Sophomore Itziar Unanue (Monterrey, Mexico/Colegio San Patricio)
was next at 92, good for a tie for 99th, senior Adriana
Espinoza (Laredo, TX/Laredo CC) shot a 93, good for a tie for 104th,
freshman Christine Treanor (Bulverde, TX/Smithson Valley HS) shot a 96,
good for a tie for 111th, and sophomore Christina Infante
(Lyford, TX/Lyford HS) shot a 111, good for 114th place. The tournament will continue Friday. WGBAYLOR032802 |
