FINISH 20TH AT BAYLOR-TAPATIO SHOOTOUT
BOERNE, TX–The University of Texas-Pan
American’s women’s golf team finished 20th at the 20-team
Baylor-Tapatio Shootout, at the Tapatio Springs Resort. The Lady Broncs shot a final-round score of 346, for a 36-hole score of 714. Texas Tech won the tournament with a score of 613, followed by Tuland and host Baylor at 614, Northwestern at 616, Wisconsin at 620, Texas A&M at 621 and Nebraska and Illinois at 633. Next were kent State at 637, Missouri at 642, Kansas State and Iowa State at 647, Sam Houston State at 659, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 662, North Texas at 669, Middle Tennessee State at 670, McLennan CC at 672, Ohio University at 681 and Southwest Texas State at 693. Senior Adriana Espinoza (Laredo, TX/Laredo CC) and
sophomore Itziar Unanue (Monterrey, Mexico/Colegio San Patricio) led the
Lady Broncs. Espinoza shot a final-round 82 and Unanure shot an 83 to
give them two-round scores of 175 and leave them tied for 89th
place. Sophomore Crystal Frazier (Wortham, TX/Wortham HS) shot a 91 for
a total of 178 and a tie for 97th.
Freshman Christine Treanor (Bulverde, TX/Smithson Valley HS) shot
a 90, for a total of 186 and 108th place, while sophomore
Christina Infante (Lyford, TX/Lyford HS) shot a 104, good for a total of
215 and 112th place. The Lady Broncs will return to action when they
participate in the Eastern Kentucky Lady Colonel Classic April 10th-13th.
