12TH AFTER SECOND DAY AT LADY COLONEL CLASSIC
RICHMOND, KY–The University of Texas-Pan
American’s women’s golf team is in 12th place after the
second day of action at the 15-team Lady Colonel Classic, hosted by
Eastern Kentucky at the Arlington Golf Course. The Lady Broncs shot an 18-hole score of 329 Friday, giving them a total of 665, five strokes ahead of Ball State. UTPA is ten strokes ahead of Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis, and 29 shots ahead of Lipscomb. Murray State leads the tournament with a 36-hole score of 624, followed by Toledo at 628, Western Carolina at 632, Austin Peay at 634, Xavier at 640, and Butler and Oakland at 641. Western Kentucky is next at 645, followed by Eastern Kentucky at 647, Youngstown State at 655, and Tennessee Tech at 657. Sophomore Crystal Frazier (Wortham, TX/Wortham HS)
shot an 80, good for a two-day score of 161 and a tie for 27th
place. Sophomore Itziar Unanue (Monterrey, Mexico/Colegio San Patricio)
shot an 82 for a score of 165, good for a tie for 44th place.
Freshman Christine Treanor (Bulverde, TX/Smithson Valley HS) shot an 84
for a two-day score of 167, good for a tie for 53rd place.
Senior Adriana Espinoza (Laredo, TX/Laredo CC) shot an 83, for a 36-hole
score of 172, good for a tie for 63rd place. Sophomore
Christina Infante (Lyford, TX/Lyford HS) shot a score of 109, good for a
two-day total of 219, and 87th place. The tournament will conclude Saturday.
