LADY BRONCS 13TH AFTER FIRST DAY AT ISLANDER SPRING INVITATIONAL

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The University of Texas-Pan American’s women’s golf team is in 13th place after the first day of action at the 54-hole, two-day Islander Spring Invitational at Kings Crossing Country Club.

The Lady Broncs shot a 36-hole score of 703, putting them 18 shots behind 12th-place Northeastern Oklahoma State.

Host TAMU-CC led with a score of 644, followed by Texas-El Paso at 656, Kansas and McLennan Community College at 657, Kansas State at 659, Oral Roberts at 667, Notre Dame at 668, McNeese State at 671, Lamar at 672, Xavier at 673 and Southwest Texas State at 682.

Sophomore Itziar Unanue (Monterrey, Mexico/Colegio San Patricio) paced the Lady Broncs, standing 46th after the first day of action at 173. Sophomore Crystal Frazier (Wortham, TX/Wortham HS) was tied for 49th at 175, freshman Christine Treanor (Bulverde, TX/Smithson Valley HS) was tied for 52nd at 176, senior Adriana Espinoza (Laredo, TX/Laredo CC)was tied for 58th at 179, and sophomore Christina Infante (Lyford, TX/Lyford HS) was 71st at 202.

The tournament will conclude with the final round Tuesday. .
