Leads UT Pan American Women’s Golf on First Day of Islander
Invitational CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS – Adrianna Espinoza is tied for 23rd
overall, leading the University of Texas-Pan American to an eighth place
standing after the first day of the Islander Invitational, held at the
Kings Crossing Country Club on Monday. Espinoza,
a junior from Laredo, shot her lowest round of the season, a second
round 78, to finish in 23rd place.
Melissa Head, a freshman from Oklahoma City, Okla., shot a pair
of 82’s to place in a tie for 28th.
Jeannie Lane is in 32nd place with a total of 166,
Tootie Lauzon is tied for 39th with a 168, Itziar Unanue is
tied for 43rd with a 169 and Crystal Frazier is 50th
with a 173. Alessandra
Perez of host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi leads the way individually
with a 152 (74-78). Maria
Jonsdottir of Lamar and Kelly Dillon of Bradley are tied for second
place with 154’s. In the team standings, host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
leads after two rounds with a 628 (313-315).
Lamar is in second with a 631, followed by North Texas with 636
and Bradley with a 638. UTPA
is in a tie for eighth place with a 665. Play will wrap up with the final round of the Islander Invitational on Tuesday morning at the Kings Crossing Country Club. |
