Broncs Finish Tournament Play in Lady Trojan Invitational Golf
Tournament LITTLE
ROCK -- The University of Texas-Pan American Lady Bronc golf team
finished tied for 17th place at the University of
Arkansas-Little Rock Lady Trojan Invitational held on the Stone Links
Golf Course. The Lady
Broncs as a team shot a team total of 969 strokes for the three round
tournament. The University
of Okalahoma fired a team total of 874 strokes, took first place in the
tournament. In second place
was Arkansas State University, with a team total of 887 strokes, while
North Texas took third with an 894.
UTPA finished 17th with a 969. Melissa
Head lead the Lady Broncs with a three-day total of 231, which put her
in 42nd place. Head shot a team-season low of 73 in the first round.
The 231 total was her best of the season.
Itziar Unanue was the second Lady Broncs with a three-round total
of 245, good for 77th. Adriana
Espinoza was the third Bronc, just one stroke back of Unanue with a 246,
Jeannie Lane was next with a 251 and Crystal Frazier, playing in her
first tournament as a Bronc had a 253. Sofia
Josefsson of host Arkansas-Little Rock took medallist honors with a 214.
Just one stroke back of her was Alison Hiller of Southern
Illinois and Nina Reis of North Texas, who shot identical 215’s. Next up for UTPA is the Pat Bradley Invitational, which will be held in Miami, Florida on November 15-17. |
