11/13/01-Lady Broncs 11th at Islander Fall Classic: The University of Texas-Pan American’s women’s golf team finished 11^th out of 13 teams at the 54-hole, two-day Islander Fall Classic at the Kings Crossing Country Club. The Lady Broncs shot a final-round 360, giving them a three-round total of 1094. 

10/16/01-Lady Broncs Withdraw at Kansas: The University of Texas-Pan American’s women’s golf team withdrew from the final round Tuesday at the Marilyn Smith/Sunflower Invitational Golf Tournament at the University of Kansas.

10/15/01-Lady Broncs’ First Day Action Rained Out At Kansas:  The University of Texas-Pan American’s women’s golf team was rained out today on the first day of the Marilyn Smith/ Sunflower Invitational Golf Tournament at the University of Kansas. The  tournament was rescheduled as a single-day tournament, beginning Tuesday morning.

9/30/01-Lady Broncs 14th at Notre Dame: The University of Texas-Pan American’s women’s golf team finished 14th at the Notre Dame Invitational Tournament Sunday at the Warren Golf Course. 

9/29/01-UTPA 14^TH After 1st Round at Notre Dame: The University of Texas-Pan American’s women’s golf team is in 14th place after the first day of action at the Notre Dame Invitational Tournament Saturday.

9/25/01-Lady Broncs 9th at Lamar: The University of Texas-Pan American’s women’s golf 
team finished in ninth place in their 2002-2002 season debut at the Lady Cardinal Invitational, which was hosted by Lamar University and concluded Tuesday at the Beaumont Country Club.

9/24/01-Lady Broncs 9th After First Day's Action at Lamar: The University of Texas-Pan American’s women’s golf team is in ninth place after the first day of action at the Lady Cardinal Invitational at the Beaumont Country Club Monday. UTPA scored 685 for the first two rounds of 
the tournament, shooting a 343 for the first 18 holes and a 342 for the next.

UTPA Student-Athletes Honored as 2001 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars
The Journal of Black Issues in Higher Education has recently honored three student-athletes at The University of Texas-Pan American as 2001 recipients of the prestigious Arthur Ashe Jr. Sport Scholar award.  Woman’s golfer, Adriana Espinoza, and Baseball player, Oziel Ortiz was both honored for the second consecutive year.  First year Cross Country and Track standout, Patty Villarreal was honored for the first time.  

Lady Bronc Golfers Come up Short at BYU Dixie Classic
ST. GEORGE, UT – As a result of an untimely injury, the Lady Bronc Golf team was forced to officially withdraw from the team competition at the BYU Dixie Classic.  Melissa Head, a freshman from Oklahoma City, OK was forced to withdraw from competition as a result of a neck injury.

3/17/01 - Lady Bronc Golfers Finish Strong at 15^th Annual Snowbird Intercollegiate : The Lady Bronc Golf team finished 8^th at the 15^th Annual Snowbird Intercollegiate hosted by Northern Illinois University.  Freshman Itziar Unanue tied her low round of the year with a 78 on the second day to help lead the Lady Broncs to a two-round total of 648 for the tournament.

2/20/01 - UT Pan American Women’s Golf Finishes Ninth at Islander Invitational Tuesday: Adriana Espinoza finished 18th overall to lead the way for the University of Texas-Pan American at the Islander Invitational Women’s Golf Tournament, played at the Kings Crossing Country Club on Tuesday.

2/19/01 - Espinoza Leads UT Pan American Women’s Golf on First Day of Islander Invitational: Adrianna Espinoza is tied for 23^rd overall, leading the University of Texas-Pan American to an eighth place standing after the first day of the Islander Invitational, held at the Kings Crossing Country Club on Monday.

2/7/01 - Southern Methodist Takes Title at Lady Bronc Women’s Golf Classic Wednesday:  Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Melissa Newman-Gillespie shot her third consecutive sub-80 round in windy conditions to come from behind and win medallist honors, while Southern Methodist overcame a sluggish final round to win the team title, as play wrapped up at the Lady Bronc Classic on Wednesday at The Club at Cimarron.

2/6/01 - Southern Methodist Leads After First Day of UTPA Lady Bronc Golf Classic: Danielle Netschi took the individual lead, helping Southern Methodist University to the team lead after the first day of play at the Lady Bronc Golf Classic, held at The Club at Cimarron Tuesday.

11/14/00 - UT Pan American Women’s Golf in Seventh Place After Two Rounds of Pat Bradley Invitational: Itziar Unanue is tied for 20^th place, leading the University of Texas-Pan American women’s golf team after two rounds at the 22^nd annual FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational, held at the Miami National Golf Club on Tuesday.

10/5/99 - Jamie McInturff Again Leads UT-Pan American Golf Squad: Jamie McInturff lead the University of Texas Pan American Lady Bronc Golf Team to a 9th place finish in the Lady Cardinal Invitational, hosted by Lamar University.

9/21/99 - McInturff Earns First Top 20 Finish for Lady Broncs Women's Golf: UT-Pan American women's golfer Jamie McInturff fired an 81 in the second round of the Northern Arizona Lumberjack Women's Golf Invitational for a final score of 160 and a 16th place finish.

9/8/99 - UT-Pan American Women’s Golf Finishes 15th at Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic: The University of Texas-Pan American Women’s Golf Team shot a final round 339 to finish 15th at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic at the Ptarmigan Country Club Wednesday afternoon.

8/16/99 - UT-Pan American Names Former All-American Barbara Odale as Women’s Golf Coach: The University of Texas-Pan American Athletic Department announced on Monday the hiring of Barbara Odale, a former All-American at Southern Methodist as Head Women’s Golf Coach.  She replaces Barb Einecker, who served as the Lady Broncs mentor the last three seasons.
