UT Pan American Women's Tennis Falls to North Texas, 9-0

DENTON, TEXAS -- The University of Texas-Pan American women's tennis team fell to the University of North Texas, 9-0, in second match of the spring season.

Maria Fernandez played the closest to pulling out a match, dropping a tough 6-3, 6-4, decision at number one singles to Siayareh Rambally.  Sagnite Garcia also played strong, falling by a 6-2, 6-3, at number two singles against Catherine Alain.  Edinburg native Kristine Getchell fell by a 6-2, 6-3, count to Kristin Beedy at number three singles.  Mireya Villareal and Linda Rodriguez both fell in their second match as Broncs.

In doubles Fernandez and Garcia dropped an 8-5 decision at number one, while Getchell and Villareal fell by a count of 8-3 at number two.

The Lady Broncs will return to action on Friday, February 11th, when they face Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas.
