Alana Breen2001 Freshman:  Played number three singles and doubles...  Won her first match of the season against Kim Jordan of Sam Houston State University, a 6-2, 6-0 decision...   Teamed up with Mireya Villareal to pick up her first doubles win of the season against Southwest Texas State with an 8-3 decision.

At Whistler Secondary School: Was a multi-sport standout for WSS, participating in tennis, skiing, snowboarding, volleyball and cross-country… She was ranked fourth in British Columbia in singles… As a junior she was named WSS outstanding female athlete… An outstanding skier, Breen competed in provincial, national and international competitions in Downhill Skiing as a junior.Photo by Bernie Saenz

Personal: Born on September 25, 1982… Parents are Valerie and Dennis Breen… Has one sister, Leah… Also concerned about her performance off the court, as well as on, Breen was an honor roll student all four of her years at WSS… She earned the Whistler Community Award and was an active member of the Youth Action Team, which focused on stopping violence throughout the community, particularly in high schools… Plans to major in Pre-Med (Chemistry) at UTPA.
