Weidner, Coca-Cola Valley Cold Drink Manager Kyle Yeary, Coca-Cola Area Vice-President Carlos Ramos4/7/03- The men's golf team is in sixth place after the first round of the 12-team Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic at the Reflection Ridge Golf Course.

4/6/03- Designated hitter Joshua Hulin’s run-scoring single with the bases loaded and no one out in the bottom of the 12th inning gave Texas A&M-Corpus Christi a 3-2 victory over the baseball team Sunday afternoon, and a sweep of their three-game series at Islander Field. Louie Alamia has now hit in five consecutive games, and 27 of his last 28 games. He has also scored runs in eight consecutive games.

4/5/03- Marlin Manley qualified for NCAA regionals, and the track teams turned in another strong performance at the Texas Relays. Jeremy Salvo picked up his seventh consecutive singles win and his fourth straight doubles victory to help the men’s tennis team defeat Centenary College. The women's tennis team also defeated Centenary, 4-3. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi came from behind in the opener and built an early lead in the nightcap to defeat the baseball team , 7-3 and 10-6, in a doubleheader at Islander Field Saturday afternoon.

4/4/03- Deneb DeLuna qualified for the regional meet at Nebraska May 30th and 31st when she finished third in the shot put at the Texas Relays Friday afternoon. Texas-A&M-Corpus Christi defeated the men's tennis team, 5-2.

4/3/03- The track teams turned in strong performances at the Texas Relays, as Westly Keating finished first at 5,000 meters, while Rowena Hamlet and junior Patty Villarreal did well in their respective races. Senior guard Kevin Mitchell of the men’s basketball team has been named to the inaugural NCAA Division I-AAA Athletic Director’s Association Scholar-Athlete Team.The men's tennis team will visit in-state rival Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday afternoon, and return to host Centenary in a crucial Southland Conference match Saturday at the Cox Tennis CenterThe women’s tennis team will also host Centenary Saturday. The baseball team will begin a 12-game stretch of road games when they visit Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this weekend.

4/2/03-The track and field team will compete at the Texas Relays this weekend.

4/1/03-
The baseball team split a doubleheader with Texas A&M-Kingsville Tuesday. UTPA won the first game, 10-9, in 10 innings, but dropped the second game, 10-8.

3/30/03-Texas-Arlington defeated the men's tennis team Sunday, 5-2.

3/29/03-
The baseball team defeated Dallas Baptist Saturday. Travis Parker pitched a complete game to pick up a 5-1 win. The men's tennis team defeated Oral Roberts Saturday to pick up their sixth consecutive win, and the men's and women's track teams set six meet records at the Angela Procter Open Saturday.

3/28/03- Westly Keating qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a strong performance at the Stanford Invitational. The baseball team rallied from an eight-run deficit to defeat Dallas Baptist Friday, and Louie Alamia tied the UTPA record for hits in consecutive games at 22. Tracy Anderson has been named Associate Head Coach of the women's basketball team

3/27/03-The baseball team will host their next four games, against Dallas Baptist this weekend, and Texas A&M-Kingsville on Tuesday, the men's tennis team will travel to Arlington this weekend for matches against Oral Roberts and Texas-Arlington. The UTPA track and field teams will host the Angela Procter Open this Saturday, and Westly Keating will be heading to the Stanford Invitational.

3/26/03: The baseball team dropped a doubleheader at Southwest Texas State Wednesday, falling 5-0 in the opener, and 9-4 in the nightcap.

3/25/03: The baseball game at Southwest Texas State was suspended Tuesday evening, and the baseball team has made a couple of schedule changes. Meanwhile, the women's golf team finished 12th at the Baylor/Tapatio Springs Shootout.

3/24/03: The baseball team will travel to Southwest Texas State to play the Bobcats in a pair of games Tuesday and Wednesday, while the women's golf team is 12th after the second day of action at the Baylor/Tapatio Springs Shootout.

3/23/03: The men's golf team finished 19th at the Furman Intercollegiate, while the women are 12th after the first day of action at the Baylor/Tapatio Springs Shootout.

3/22/03:
The
men's tennis team defeated Lamar, 5-2, Saturday afternoon, the track and field team had 12 personal records at the UTSA/Whataburger Relays, and the men's golf team is 19th after the second day of action at the Furman Intercollegiate.

3/21/03: The men's golf team is 22nd after the first round at the Furman Intercollegiate.

3/20/03:
The tennis teams defeated Vermont, while the track teams will visit the UTSA/Whataburger Relays this weekend.

3/18/03: The baseball team defeated Iona, 14-2,
while the men's golf team finished 15th at the Waterwood Intercollegiate.

3/17/03: The baseball team defeated Iona, 6-1,
Monday, while the
tennis teams split with Cameron and the men's golf team is 15th after the first day of action at the Bearkat Invitational.

3/16/03: The baseball team defeated Iona, 9-8,
and Illinois downed Prairie View A&M, 13-0, on the final day of action at the UTPA/Al Ogletree Classic. Five UTPA players were named to the All-Tournament Team.

3/15/03: Amy Moses finished 15th at the NCAA Championships,
while the baseball team fell to illinois, 4-0, and Iona topped Prairie View A&M, 9-1, on the second day of action at the UTPA/Al Ogletree Classic.
