Hit .418 (23-55) with runners in scoring position......Scored three runs twice, vs. Iona March 16th and Texas A&M-Kingsville April 1st....Had five hits against Oral Roberts April 11th.....Drove in four runs against texas-San Antonio April 23rd....Reached base safely in 32 consecutive games and in 45 of the 50 games in which he played....Earned All-District honors in each of his four years at EDINBURG NORTH HIGH SCHOOL, where he played under former Bronc Mike Duffey…….Batted .522 with 19 runs scored, six triples and 16 runs batted in despite playing in only 13 games due to an injury….Hit four triple in one game….District 31-5A Most Valuable Player as a senior……Earned All-Area honors four times and was thrice named All-Rio Grande Valley…..Twice named to the All-Bay Area Team….Named Male Athlete of the Year by The Monitor as a senior….Earned Academic Athlete Award….Named to the National Honor Roll and the National Honor Society….Earned the Superintendent's Academic Excellence Award, named a Texas Scholar.
