Edinburg, Texas - The schedule doesn't get any easier. Texas-Pan American (7-10) will play host to Arkansas (11-3) in a two game series, March 6-7. The game on Saturday the 6th is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. while the game on Sunday the 7th will start at 1:00 p.m.
The Razorbacks are coming off a 5-2 win over New Mexico on February 29. A day earlier, Arkansas upset 14th ranked Texas A&M, 6-4. Clay Goodwin sparks an offense that is hitting .323 and scoring 8.7 runs a game. Goodwin has three doubles, three home runs, has scored 12 runs, driven in 15 while hitting .477. Brett Hagedorn is hitting .407 while Jake Dugger has a .405 average. On the mound, Daryl Maday and Charley Boyce are 2-0.
The Broncs are coming off a three-game series with Washington State that included a 3-2 win in 10 innings. Louie Alamia (So./Edinburg, Texas/Edinburg North HS) has continued where he left off last year. He has three doubles, three triples, has scored 14 runs, driven in 10 runs and is hitting .442. Alamia has a 14 game hitting streak and has reached base safely in his last 27 games. Juan Saenz (Jr./Mission, Texas/Mission HS) is pulling double-duty as he is hitting .333 and is 2-0 with 17 strikeouts and a 2.16 E.R.A. Ricky Broyles (Jr./Longview, Texas/Northeast CC) has five doubles, has scored 11 runs and driven in 12 runs while recording four saves on the mound.
