Edinburg, Texas - Texas-Pan American (14-20) will be looking for revenge as they take on Texas State-San Marcos (16-15) on the road, April 6-7. The Broncs opened the season on January 31 and February 1 against the Bobcats and lost both games. The game on the 6th is at 6:30 p.m. while the 7th is a 1:00 p.m. start.

The big bats for UTPA continue to be Louie Alamia (So./Edinburg, Texas/Edinburg North HS) and Marco Garza (Jr./Mission, Texas/Sharyland HS). Alamia has five doubles, four triple, four home runs, has scored 30 runs and driven in 21 runs with a .352 average. He has reached base safely in his last 45 games. Garza has five doubles, has scored 27 runs, driven in 16 runs and is hitting .314.

On the mound, Juan Saenz (Jr./Mission, Texas/Mission HS) is 4-1 with 43 strike outs and a 3.56 ERA in 43 innings while Justin Bogy (Sr./West Columbia, Texas/West Columbia HS) is 3-2 with a 3.00 ERA in 27 innings. The bullpen duo of Ricky Broyles (Jr./Longview, Texas/Northeast Texas CC) and Chad Linder (Fr./Reklaw, Texas/Rusk HS) are 1-3 with eight saves and a 4.15 ERA in 30 and one-third innings.

The Bobcats have three players hitting .350 or better on the season. Matt Miller has eight doubles, six home runs, has scored 30 runs, driven in 28 runs and is hitting .392, Evan Tierce has 11 doubles, four triples, has scored 27 runs, driven in 23 runs and is batting .362 and Mark Cooper has nine doubles, four home runs, has driven in 26 runs and is hitting .350.

On the mound, Tom Robbins is 4-5 with 40 strike outs and a 3.88 ERA in 60 and one-third innings and Patrick Colgan is 2-0 with 27 strike outs and a 1.80 ERA. in 30 innings.

"They've got a good team and have played a tough schedule." Said Head Coach Willie Gawlik. "I'm expecting this two-game series to be a real battle. It's been almost a week since we have played, time that we have used to rest the arms of our pitching staff. Once again, it comes down to who you have on the mound. If we throw strikes, then our defense will be ready to make plays. When that happens, it takes the pressure off of our offense and they hit better."
