BRONCS ADD AARON FLOWERS
EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American's baseball team has signed its eighth recruit this spring, and its 13th recruit overall.
Infielder Aaron Flowers of Rowlett, Texas, Northeast Texas Community College and Rowlett High School will join the Broncs this fall. He will enter UTPA as a junior, with two years of eligibility remaining.
Flowers hit .310 for Northeast Texas CC last spring, with 10 doubles, three triples, two home runs and 26 runs batted in. He fielded .995 while seeing most of his action at shortstop.
At Rowlett HS, Flowers was twice named All-District. He started at shortstop as a senior, and finished the season without making a single error. He is currently playing summer baseball in California.
"I'm very excited about having Aaron come into our program,"
said UTPA Head Coach Willie Gawlik. "He's a very good defensive player,
and I see him helping us solidify our defense next spring. He has great work
habits and intensity, is a hard-nosed player, and wants to win. I see Aaron
as a great addition to our team."
Flowers joins Cesar Pena of Harlingen, Texas and Harlingen South HS, Chad Linder
of Rusk, Texas and Rusk High School, Sam English of Magnolia, Texas and the
University of Central Arkansas, Austin Hoffman of Kempner High School and Sugar
Land, Texas, Alfred Padron of Alvin Community College and Pasadena, Texas, Nick
Gregory of Angelina Junior College and Mesquite, Texas, Philip Rodriguez of
Edinburg North High School and Edinburg, Texas, Zach Smith of Sanger High School
in Sanger, Texas, Ricky Glazier of Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas, Ryan
Grimet of Pearland High School in Pearland, Texas, Brian Ballew of Channelview
High School in Channelview, Texas, and Ryne Foster of Cedar Park High School
in Cedar Park, Texas in joining Texas-Pan American for next fall.
