An immediate contributor as a junior last year during the 2002-2003 season, Diaz saw action in every game and was an integral part of the Broncs’ front court rotation..... Averaged 5.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while make 81.8 per cent of his free throws......Reached double figures in scoring six times, with a career-best 16, when he scored 16 of Texas-Pan American’s 49 points in UTPA’s victory at Savannah State....... Grabbed eight rebounds in the same game, and had a career-high nine boards against Mississippi Valley State.......Made six of eight shots from the field at Savannah State....... Joined the Broncs after helping lead SOUTH PLAINS COLLEGE to the National Junior College Athletic Association Championships as a sophomore during the 2001-02 season......Averaged eight points, six rebounds and two assists per game as a sophomore at SPC, and averaged 17 points per game and 11 rebounds per game during his JC career......South Plains was ranked seventh in the nation......Named Most Improved Player.for the Texans....Earned the Mr. Hustle Award.......Came to SPC after starring at JOHN JAY HIGH SCHOOL in San Antonio.......Named All-City, All-District, and All-Conference....Served as team captain.....Averaged 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists per game for a team that was ranked third in the state of Texas.
