Coach Hoffman on Alvaidas Gedminas: “Alvaidas can score around the basket, and he is a great rebounder. He will be called upon to get some easy putbacks and play great defense. Alvaidas gives us a weapon we really haven’t had. As his fundamentals continue to improve, he’ll get better at scoring.” |
One of the top rebounders
in the junior college ranks last season, Gedminas will bring his front
court talents to The University of Texas-Pan American this year.......Gedminas
averaged a double-double last season as a sophomore at KIRTLAND COMMUNITY
COLLEGE in Roscommon, Michigan.......Gedminas scored 12.6 points
per game and grabbed 12.3 rebounds per game, and helped lead the Firebirds
to the Michigan Community College Athletic Association playoffs. .........Was
ranked fifth in rebounding among all National Junior College Athletic
Association Division I players.....Named All-Region XII......Selected
All-Conference.....Named as KCC’s Most Valuable Player....... Nominated
for NJCAA All-American honors.....Named Most Valuable Player in the
2003 All-Star Game..... Selected as a member of Phi Theta Kappa......Graduated
from LAIVITE HIGH SCHOOL in Plunge, Lithuania.
