Edinburg, Texas - Texas Pan American looks to continue its two streaks as they take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Saturday in the UTPA Fieldhouse at 7:30 p.m. The Broncs have won five games in a row and have won their last three games at home.

The Islanders are 13-8 and currently are ranked 158th in NCAA Division I RPI rankings. They head into Edinburg on the heels of a four game winning streak. Travis Bailey leads four players in double-figures with 14.2 points a game. Corey Lamkin is averaging 10.7 points and 9.2 rebounds a game.

"Coach (Ronnie)Arrow has done a very good job with them." Said UTPA head coach Bob Hoffman. "They are athletic and have won some big games so we are going to have our work cut out for us. It will be a very good game and I'm glad we are playing at home."

Over the last five games the Broncs have been on a torrid pace averaging 74.4 points a game while shooting 41.1 percent from the floor and 78.6 percent from the free throw line. They are holding their opponents to 62.4 points a game and are out rebounding them by over eight a game. Sergio Sanchez (Jr./San Antonio, Texas/Temple College) is averaging 17 points and 3.3 assists game and has hit his last 33 free throws. Andrius Sakalys (Sr./Vilnius, Lithuania/Eastern Oklahoma State) is averaging 13 points and is shooting 85.0 percent (17-of-20) from the free throw line.

"One big difference is that we have played home games." Said Hoffman. "Four of those five wins in a row were at home and that has helped us. The guys have just stepped it up. We are on a role mentally and that is a good thing because the mental aspect of the game is so important. The guys are feeling really confident about what they can accomplish when they step on the floor."

There is no rest for the weary as Top 25 contender Air Force will be in the UTPA Fieldhouse, Monday, February 16. The Falcons are having their best season ever at 17-3. Defense has been the key for Air Force as they have given up just 48.8 points a game and average 8.2 steals a game.

"We have beaten Air Force two out of the last three years but they have done a really good job of executing their offense and defense." Said coach Hoffman. "They are well coached and run a different style of offense. We will have to be prepared for that which will be tough since we will have only one day to do that."
