Little Rock, Arkansas - Texas-Pan American had the biggest one round improvement of any team at the Lindsey Collegiate Classic. The Broncs shot a 301 in the second round, which was 17 strokes better than their first round score. UTPA finishes the tournament tomorrow.

Jacksonville State shot 284-294 for a 578 to remain in first place. The championship is not clinched though as New Mexico State (297-282=579), Arkansas-Little Rock (289-291=580) and Texas-San Antonio (287-296=583) are all within five strokes of the Gamecocks. UTPA shot 318-301 for a 619 and is in 15th place.

Individually, Nick Mackay of Jacksonville State shot a 68-69 for a 136 and leads by three strokes over Bryan Vahlberg (Louisiana-Monroe). Rudy Celedon (Sr./Edinburg, Texas/Edinburg North HS) shot a 73-71 and is tied for 10th at 144.

"I'm really pleased with the way we hung in there and battled back," said Head Coach Drew Scott. "We went from being out of the hunt to being in a position to maybe catch a few teams. Rudy has been playing very well for us over the last month. John Huerta (Jr./Alice, Texas/Alice HS) was just unbelievable shooting a 73. That is his best round this year and was nine shots better than his first round score."
