HOUSTON, TEXAS -Texas-Pan American shot a 312 and a 319 for a two round total of 631 at the Rice Intercollegiate. The Broncs are currently in 14th place. Denver saw its eight shot lead after the first round cut to just four shots. Denver leads Texas-San Antonio 584-588. Rounding out the top five are North Texas State at 593, Texas State-San Marcos at 594 and Notre Dame at 597. The third and final round will be played tomorrow.
Rudy Celedon (Sr./Edinburg, Texas/Edinburg North HS) shot a 72-71 for a total of 143 which puts him tied for 2nd with Brad Gibson of North Texas and Barrett Jarosch of Denver. They trail James Love of Denver by four strokes. Paul Manganilla (Sr./Carrolton, Texas/Navarro College) shot 80-80 for a 160 and is tied for 66th, Craig Berger (So./Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada/Wetaskiwin Composite HS) and John Huerta (Jr./Alice, Texas/Alice HS) both shot 80-85 for a 185 and are tied for 74th while Colin Norris (Fr./Calgary, Alberta, Canada/Cochrane HS) shot 86-83 for a 169 and is 78th.
"It's a pretty tough day to play today," said Head Coach Drew
Scott. "It's pretty cool with temperatures in the high 50's and the
winds are gusting at around 30 mph. I'm very pleased with Rudy's performance.
He has been playing very well over the last few weeks."
