HOUSTON, TEXAS -Texas-Pan American shot a 312-319-322 for a three round total of 953 to place 14th at the Rice Intercollegiate. Texas-San Antonio shot a 307 on the final day to come from behind and win the tournament by five strokes over Notre Dame and Denver. Rounding out the top five were North Texas in 4th at 902 and Stephen F. Austin in 5th at 911.
Rudy Celedon (Sr./Edinburg, Texas/Edinburg North HS) shot a 72-71-77 for a total of 220 which put him tied for 6th with Kevin Messer of Texas State-San Marcos. They were five strokes behind the winner, Barrett Jarosch of Denver who shot 215. Paul Manganilla (Sr./Carrolton, Texas/Navarro College) shot 80-80-81 for a 240 to finish 65th, Craig Berger (So./Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada/Wetaskiwin Composite HS) shot 80-85-83 for a 248 to finish 73rd, Colin Norris (Fr./Calgary, Alberta, Canada/Cochrane HS) shot 86-83-81 for a 250 to finish 76th while John Huerta (Jr./Alice, Texas/Alice HS) shot 80-85-87 for a 252 to finish 78th.
The Broncs are off until March 14-15 when they played in the Bearkat Invitational
in Huntsville. The tournament is sponsored by Sam Houston State.
