BRONCS COMPLETE PLAY AT BAYLOR

WACO, TX-Two members of The University of Texas-Pan American men's tennis team bowed out in the consolation round of the HEB Baylor Intercollegiate Tournament at the Baylor Tennis Center.

Freshman Oliver Steil (Brunssum, The Netherlands/AF North International School) won his consolation quarterfinal match, defeating Max Grana of Wichita State, 7-6, 6-0. He lost in the consolation semi-finals to Mike Garcia of Baylor, 6-3, 6-3. Sophomore Filip Koziell (Calgary, Alberta/Bishop Carroll HS) lost his consolation quarterfinal match to Ryan Hayman of Texas, 7-5, 6-3.

"We played pretty well," said UTPA Head Coach Todd Chapman. "The guy Filip played got hot early in the second set, and hit a lot of good shots. Overall, we did pretty well. It was a good tournament, and we faced a lot of good competition."

The Broncs will return to action October 18th at the Texas-San Antonio Invitational.

Jeremy Salvo lost to Barry McLaren , Baylor, 6-3, 6-4 , defeated Jon Jenkin, Texas-San Antonio, 6-4, 6-3, lost to Eduardo Pacheco, Arkansas, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
Neil Barraclough defeated Thatcher Cribbs, Lamar, 6-2, 6-0, lost to Pepe Mendoza, Texas Christian, 7-5, 6-4, lost top Alon Goldshuv, Texas-Arlington, 6-1, 6-3.
