BRONCS, LADY BRONCS HEAD FOR COLORADO

EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American tennis teams are headed west.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs will visit Air Force this weekend, with the women playing four matches and the men playing three.

The Lady Broncs play Idaho State Friday, Wyoming Saturday, Air Force Sunday and Southern Utah Monday. The Broncs meet the host Falcons Friday, and play both Idaho State and Boston University Saturday.

"We're excited about the chance to play some teams from outside of our region," said UTPA Head Coach Todd Chapman. "We will be facing some good competition, and we hope to do well."

The Broncs are 4-3 going into this weekend's action. "The Air Force men are tough to beat on their home court," said UTPA Head Coach Todd Chapman. "Idaho State has had some good results, and both Idaho State and Air Force have very strong number one players. Boston University might not be as strong. We'll be playing all three matches indoors, which will be different. Hopefully, we'll adjust quickly, because all three of those teams are used to playing indoors."

The Lady Broncs are 2-10 going into their first match of the trip. "Air Force and Wyoming have good women's teams," said Chapman. "We should be pretty competitive with Idaho State and Southern Utah. We're looking for continued improvement, and we hope to develop more consistency as the year goes on. We're continuing to lay a foundation, and hope to come on strong."

Texas-Pan American will return to action when they play Cameron in San Antonio March 17th.
