BRONCS ACHIEVE NATIONAL RANKING

EDINBURG, TX-For the first time in 12 years, The University of Texas-Pan American men's tennis team has achieved a national ranking.

The Broncs are tied for 72nd in the latest NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Tennis Association/ Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. Texas-Pan American was last ranked during the 1991 season.

"Today is a great day for UTPA tennis," said UTPA Head Coach Todd Chapman. "It's the first time since the early 90s that we've had a nationally-ranked program. One of our goals this year was to be ranked in the top 75. We've been working towards this goal for two years, and it's nice to see our players be rewarded for their hard work. Hopefully, we can build upon this, and continue to build a nationally-recognized program at UTPA."

The Broncs will take an 11-7 record into Saturday afternoon's Southland Conference match against Texas-San Antonio at the Cox Tennis Center.
