LADY BRONCS ELIMINATED AT ITA REGIONALS

FORT WORTH, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American's women's tennis team was eliminated at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southwest Regionals at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center at Texas Christian University.

Freshman Vanessa Hedinger (Therwil, Switzerland/Gymnasium Berwil) lost her consolation round match to Bindiya Parekh of Arkansas-Little Rock, 1-6, 6-3, (10-8). Earlier, Hedinger lost her first round match to Mia Marovic of Texas, 6-1, 6-1, then defeated Christine Machrowicz of Centenary, 6-1, 6-1.

Sophomore Elysia Sloan (Duncanville, TX/Duncanville HS) fell to Yessica Rizella of Southeastern Louisiana in consolation play, 6-0, 6-1. Sloan had dropped her first match to Karen Chaw of Rice, 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles, Hedinger and junior Ana Pena (McAllen, TX/Nikki Rowe HS) lost both of their matches. They fell to Steffanie Balzert and Darla Patapova of Baylor, 8-1, then lost in the consolation bracket to Maren Arnold and Liselott Hedenberg of New Orleans, 8-2.

The Lady Broncs will return to action October 31st at the UTSA Fall Invitational.
