Bianco was honored for his performance against ninth-ranked Texas A&M and Trinity when the Broncs opened their season at Texas A&M's Mitchell Tennis Center January 19th.
Bianco went 2-0 in singles. He defeated John Nallon of Texas A&M at number four singles, 6-4, 6-3; then defeated Jeremy Stone of Trinity at number four singles, 6-3, 6-3. The matches were Bianco's first team matches as a collegian. The Broncs defeated Trinity, 4-3, and lost to the Aggies, 6-1.
"I'm glad to see that Gary was honored, it's a great start for his college
career," said UTPA Head Coach Eduardo Provencio. "Gary is quickly
becoming a guy who we know will always put up a good fight to win his singles
matches, and he played well against both Trinity and Texas A&M."
Texas-Pan American will return to action when they visit Eastern Kentucky February
