EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American's tennis teams will spring into action this weekend. The Lady Broncs will play for the first time this season, while the Broncs will see action for the second time this year.

The women's team plays at Texas-San Antonio Friday at 3:00 p.m. The men visit Eastern Kentucky Friday at 11 a.m. Central Time, then play Xavier Saturday at 7 a.m. CT and Dayton at 11 a.m. CT on the same day.

The Lady Broncs will have four returning players and two newcomers. "Last year, we lost to Texas-El Paso, but it's a new season," said UTPA Head Coach Eduardo Provencio. "We have some newcomers, and I'm curious to see how well we perform."

The men will face three opponents they do not normally play. "It's nice for us to play out of our region," said Provencio. "Our region is traditionally very strong, so it's nice to go up against teams from another region to see how strong they are. We're playing on Eastern Kentucky's home court, so we'll see how it goes."

Both teams will return to action next weekend, with the men playing Saint Louis and the women playing Northwestern State and Stephen F. Austin.
