2004 OUTLOOK: Should be one of the Broncs' top performers in the middle distances this year. COACH'S COMMENTS: "Aaron had a very good freshman year. I look for Aaron to really step up this year and improve his times. I think he could represent us at outdoor regionals this year." 2003 XC: Finished as UTPA's second runner and was seventh overall as the Broncs finished first at UTSA's Whataburger Invitational. Was UTPA's third runner and was 70th overall at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships.
2003 TRACK:
Ran 800 meters in 1:54.32 at the Dogwood Invitational outdoors April 13th.....That time ranks eighth on UTPA's best list........Ran 1500 meters in 3:55.98 May 3 at the Texas Invitational......Ranks seventh on UTPA's best list. 2002 CROSS-COUNTRY: Started off slowly as he reported to campus with a foot injury that kept him out of several early season meets. Castro improved throughout the season setting a personal best of 28:33 over the five-mile course at the Independents finishing 14th. He emerged as a scorer for the green and orange for the first time at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships with a 34:51 run over the hilly 10,000m course. PREP: As a senior posted a top time of 1:57.24 and was a regional finalist. Castro also ran 50.1 for 400m and 4:30.3 for 1600m.
