2004 TRACK OUTLOOK: Will concentrate on running 10,000 meters outdoors and 5000 meters indoors. COACH’S COMMENTS: “Last year was David's first year competing for us. He was a very solid runner in cross country, and we look for continued improvement this season..” 2003 XC: Best finish was 81st at New Mexico's Lobo Invitational. 2003 TRACK: Ran 5000 meters in16:39.94 at the Houston Indoor Opener January 25th. 2002 CROSS-COUNTRY: Placed 10th in the season opener at Corpus Christi, and ended up as the third scorer for the Broncs at Southwest Texas State. Ramirez recorded his second top-10 finish of the year in the Broncs’ victory at Texas-San Antonio, setting a personal best of 22:01 for four miles. His season ended prematurely with a leg injury that sidelined him for the rest of the season. PREP: Ramirez led Waelder to the state meet in cross country for the first time in school history as a senior. Waelder HS finished fourth with Ramirez as the number one runner. Individually, Ramirez won three district titles in his final year, sweeping honors in cross country and at 1600 and 3200 meters during the spring.
