Jeff Martzall
Junior, Fort Wayne, IN (Northrop HS)

2004 TRACK OUTLOOK: After breaking school records in the pole vault last year, Martzall is looking to qualify for regionals this spring with an eye towards becoming a national qualifier. COACH’S COMMENTS: “Even though he set school records last season, Jeff will be looking to be a little more competitive in the bigger meets this year. I'm looking for him to put it all together this year.” 2002-03: Set a school record with a vault of 16-0 3/4 at the Houston Indoor Classic. Broke the school record outdoors with a vault of 16-1 at the UTPA Open. Finished first at both home meets-the Angela Procter Invitational and the UTPA Open. He is the only vaulter in school history to clear 16 feet both indoors and outdoors. 2001-02: Martzall established a school record of 15-5 indoors at the Houston Open. An ankle injury at the Drake Relays ended his outdoor season prematurely, but prior to the injury, he vaulted 15-6 to win the Angela Procter Open. He also picked up a victory at Kingsville before his injury. PREP: Martzall finished third at the Indiana State Championships with a vault of 16-0 while competing for Northrop High School.
