TRACK OUTLOOK:
Primary event will be the 400 meter hurdles this season. COACH’S
COMMENTS: “Marco went through a growing year as a freshman.
I'm looking for Marco to adjust, and to step up this year." 2002-03:
Ran the 55 meter hurdles in 8.97 seconds and the 400 meter dash in 56.65
seconds at the Houston Indoor Classic. Outdoors, he ran the 110 meter
hurdles in 57.06 seconds at the Dogwood Invitational. PREP: While
at Weslaco, Rojas concentrated on the hurdles and the jumps. Rojas sped
to personal bests of 14.6 in the 110m hurdles and 38.1 in the 300m hurdles.
He also contributed to three Weslaco district team titles in the jumps
with personal bests of 44’01” in the triple jump and 6’04”
in the high jump. Rojas was also a standout on the football team earning
Second-Team All-Rio Grande Valley accolades.
