San Antonio, Texas - A school record was one of the highlights for Texas-Pan American at the Whataburger/UTSA Relays today. Rowena Hamlet (So./Mississaugua, Ontario, Canada/Lorne Park Secondary School) ran 1:02.65 to win the 400M Hurdles and break her own school record. There were a total of five first place finishes and five additions to the top ten list. The Broncs are back in action at the Houston Hilton Bayou Classic on March 27 in Corpus Christi.

"We had another solid meet." Said head coach Ricky Vaughn. "Rowena broke her own school record in the 400M Hurdles and moved closer to qualifying for regionals. Marlin Manley (Jr./Hampton, Va./Bethel HS) jumped very well today. He had three good attempts at 6-10.75. Clarisse Arredondo (Sr./McAllen, Texas/Centenary College) threw well in winning the Javelin."

MEN

Rashaad Ben (Sr./Austin, Texas/Sidney Lanier HS) won the 110M Hurdles for the second straight weekend. Matt Clinton (Jr./Raymondville, Texas/Raymondville HS) was runner-up in the Javelin with a toss of 150-7. That is the 10th longest toss in school history. Runner-up performances were also earned by Manley in the High Jump and Jeff Martzall (Jr./Ft. Wayne, Ind./Northrop HS) in the Pole Vault. Additional top 10 UTPA performers are listed below.
