JACINTA MCMAHON SIGNS WITH UTPA TRACK AND FIELD

EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American has added another track and field recruit for the fall.

Jacinta McMahon of Tucson, Arizona, Pima College and Immaculate Heart High School will join the Lady Broncs this fall. She will enter UTPA as a junior, with two years of eligibility.

A middle distance runner, McMahon finished sixth at 800 meters at the National Junior College Athletic Association championships last spring. Her best marks are 57.94 seconds for 400 meters, and 2:15.74 for 800 meters.

"Jacinta is a very good prospect," said UTPA Head Coach Ricky Vaughn. "She should be able to come in and have a big impact on the track for us. Also, as a junior college athlete who is a little older, she will be able to help with team leadership, and add a bit of maturity to our team."

McMahon joins Beto Alvarado of Weslaco High School and Weslaco, Texas, Stephanie Perez of Pace High School and Brownsville, Texas, Amber Kelly of Dobie High School and Houston, Texas, Bethany Anderson of Kennedale High School and Arlington, Texas, Britney Hilton of Texas City High School and Texas City, Texas, Ashley Leal and Lizet Garcia, who are from McAllen Texas, and McAllen High School, and Ashley Perez of Falfurrias, Texas and Falfurrias High School in joining Texas-Pan American's track and field team for the fall.
