NETEMEYER CO-INDEPENDENT VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER
OF THE WEEK EDINBURG- Outside hitter Cathi Netemeyer (Jr./Los Fresnos, Texas/Iowa/Los Fresnos HS) of The University of Texas-Pan American's volleyball team has been named Co-Independent Offensive Player of the Week. She was chosen in a vote of Sports Information Directors of the independent NCAA Division I volleyball schools. Netemeyer had strong performances in both of UTPA's matches last week. She had 20 kills, four assists and three blocks in a five game loss at Texas-San Antonio last Wednesday night, and came back with a career-high 25 kills in a five-game loss to Connecticut on Oct. 18. She added 19 digs, and it was her third straight match with 20 or more kills. "This is a great honor for Cathy," said UTPA Volleyball Head Coach Dave Thorn. "It's nice to see her hard work being recognized. She is playing well, as is the team. This honor is a great representation for the University of Texas-Pan American." The Lady Broncs return to action when they host Texas Southern Wednesday evening. VB-28-04102103 |
