Release: Wednesday, October 2, 2002 LADY BRONC VOLLEYBALL TEAM HOSTS CENTENARY EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American volleyball team will continue their current home stand when they host Centenary Friday night. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse. The Lady Broncs will come in with a 4-12 record after a tough five-game defeat at the hands of Texas Christian last Friday night. However, UTPA Head Coach Dave Thorn said that he can see improvement each time his team plays. "Our team is starting to come together," said Thorn. ""We have a lot of young players, who are slowly putting it together. I think we will continue to be improve, and we'll be more successful in the second half of our season." Centenary is 8-14, and has won two matches in succession. "Centenary is one of our fellow independents, and they're a traditional rival," said Thorn. "They always play us tough, so I'm expecting a good match Friday night." The Lady Broncs will return to action next Tuesday night when they visit Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. VB-19-03 100202
