HOUSTON, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American made their two-match road trip to Houston a successful one.

The Lady Broncs defeated Prairie View A&M Saturday, 30-24, 30-19, 24-30 and 30-20, for their seventh consecutive victory.

Freshman middle blocker Stephanie Redd (Seguin, TX/Seguin HS) and junior outside hitter Jaclyn Muszynski (Walnut, CA/Walnut HS) led Texas-Pan American with 17 kills each. Muszynski hit .371, while Redd hit .344. Junior outside hitter Winker Cruz (Harlingen, TX/Harlingen South HS) added 13 kills and seven digs while hitting .296, and senior outside hitter Cynthia Kasper (Austin, TX/Connally HS) added five kills and hit .625. Freshman setter Katie Burke (Georgetown, TX/Georgetown HS) had 54 assists, as the Lady Broncs hit .309 to PVAMU's .167. Jonette Ozen led Prairie View A&M with 17 kills and a .294 hitting percentage.

"Prairie View is a very good defensive team with some good athletes," said UTPA Head Coach Dave Thorn. "We started off strong, had a little bit of a letdown in the third game, and came out fired up in the fourth. We got contributions from a lot of people, and it was great to see that."

The Lady Broncs improved to 11-12 with the victory. Prairie View A&M fell to 9-15. UT Pan American will return home to play Southwest Texas State Tuesday night.
